RVA Rap Elite Cypher: SEASON 8 Premiere (BYOB: NO ORIGINALS) (Click Here)
Welcome to the Rap Elite Cypher! Season 8 Premiere is Bring Your Own Beat: No Originals. Emcees will rap to a beat of their choice, but it must be an industry instrumental, and not an original beat! This cypher will take place November 3rd at RVA Boombox 6 W. Cary St.
How it Works: Each emcee has 2 Mins max to perform. Each emcee will be given a score 1-10 by each of the cypher Judges (Radio B, Nickelus F, and Easalio). Those scores will be sent directly to our scorekeeper (Cousin Frank). The emcee with the highest score at the end of the cypher will be announced as our winner. If the top scorers are within less than a full point from each other. They will compete in a sudden death round. The sudden death round is 60 seconds Acapella. The judges will score again to determine our winner. Each emcee will receive HD Footage of their performance, as well as the best performances of the cypher will be included in our Youtube Episode, and highlighted on our IG page.
The Winner: The Winner of Our Open cypher each month receives a Rap Elite Champion Hoodie w/ their likeness and episode number on it. They also receive a free studio session, Recorded, Mixed and Mastered by Michael Millions. As well as free entry to the Open Cypher for the rest of the season. They will also receive a Hoodie or Crewneck of their choice from Radio B’s clothing line Mama Jo’s Collection.
Stat Central: All scores and emcees are tracked and kept by Stat Central for the entire season to help us determine who will be our Season MVP. Our Season MVP at the end of the year gets a Custom Championship Belt, as well as other RVA Rap Elite Apparel gifts. They also get the opening slot to perform at AGM’s Annual Flag On The Moon concert at The Broadberry.
The Fantasy Draft: Once all 30 emcees are locked in they will be entered into the Draft Class. We have 10 Draft teams ran by different influencers of the Richmond Hiphop Culture. They all represent different brands/movements in the city. Ant The Symboly (Vintage Youth), Eliturite (HearRVA), Randy Wilson (Randy Wilson Podcast), Michael Millions (AGM), Ills Styles (Villains University, Monsters Inc), Lil Roc (Go Live Radio, Spiked Punch), Cara Pressley (Successful Podcast), Lady Savage (Bar Hoppin/Go Live Radio), Eric Jackson (The Richmond Seen), AWOL (MOSS/RVA Boombox). These Draft GM’s will be entered into a lottery each month to determine what order they get to pick, and will select 3 emcees from the pool of emcees each month to determine their team for that episode. The scores that their chosen emcees earn at that episode will determine that teams score and hence which team won that episode. There’s bonus points for team wins, and emcees stats will reflect being on winning teams during the season in Stat Central.
DISCOUNT CODE CONTEST: Each emcee who signs up for the cypher will receive a discount code for advanced tickets for the event, which will make the advanced tickets $15 instead of $20 or $25 at the door. The emcee who has the most ticket sales with their discount code used up to the day before the event will receive $100 and free entry to the next months cypher.
